The smooth bore shot barrel not originally associated, dating from circa 1700, in 17 mm calibre. Lavishly embellished brass appliqués on the top. A serpent engraved on the barrel rib, a three-dimensional leaf mascaron at the root. A brass appliqué with floral engraving on the tang. The lock fitted with an external wheel, spring-lock pan cover with release button. A grotesque mask engraved on the cock. The walnut full stock lavishly veneered with engraved bone inlays. Depiction of hunting scenes, various game and hounds amidst floral tendrils. A round cartouche on the cheek piece with an unidentified coat of arms and monogram "GS". Patch box with a spring catch and sliding lid. Iron fingered trigger guard. Bone-tipped wooden ramrod. Length 90 cm.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
