Double-edged blade with slightly rounded tip, the upper half with flat fuller on each side. Surrounding unknown sequence of letters within a double circle line engraved on both sides, partly rubbed. Straight iron quillons with slightly tapered arms. Original leather-covered grip, flaws due to age at both ends. Sturdy Brazil nut pommel with central ridge on each side. Length 95.5 cm. Of great rarity. Swords from the early Crusader period usually are only preserved as archaeological finds.Provenance: From an old German private collection.
