Description

Cal. 7,65 mm Brown., SN. 243351 K. Matching numbers, with the serial number also marked front right of the slide. Bright bore. Production date end of 1939. Proof mark "Crown/N". Standard markings. Professionally reworked and reblued, with a small pitted area on the left side of the slide (see picture). Brown plastic grip with party eagle holding swastika on both sides. While the grip has the metal inlay at its base, it appears slightly too thick and too heavy, probably an after-market copy. Magazine with extension and a matching numbered spare magazine, "243351 K / 2".
According to the literature, see Görtz / Marschall, "SS - Walther PP / PPK 1939 - 1944", page 42, this PPK was supplied to the RSHA (Reichssicherheitshauptamt / Gestapo). These PPK's had their serial number stamped on the right hand side of the slide, while mass production saw this feature on all PPK's only as of serial number 335000. A further indication of the usage of this pistol in police / secret police services is the magazine with matching number. Regarding the party leader grips apparently some senior officers at the RSHA were authorized to wear party leader marked pistols.
