Description

Cal. 8 mm Nambu, SN. 271, Matching numbers incl. grip panels. Nearly bright bore, barrel length 119 mm. 7-shot magazine. No modern proof marks. Made ca. 1903. Tangent rear sight scaled 1-5, groove for detachable stock. Small trigger guard. On the bolt housing a symbol indicating that the weapon was made in the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal, marked "Type Nambu" in Japanese on the right rear corner, here an early model without the anchor. Original finish, matt, on the front left on 10 mm minimally pitted and spotty. Trigger with traces of strawing. Mahogany grip panels with coarse chequering. Nickel-plated, matching-numbered magazine with wooden base. Complete with wooden shoulder stock with magazine compartment on the inside and cleaning rod, S/N 2227. Mounts with original bluing.
