Cal. .44 S&W Russ., SN. 9220, Rifled bore, matte, with shallow grooves, good condition. Six shots. Reblued finish, with some scattered, very fine pitting. 7” ribbed barrel with 2-line address and pinned steel half moon front sight. An anchor and two wavy lines (Japanese Navy mark) stamped on bottom of frame in front of trigger guard. Chequered walnut grips. Lanyard ring in the butt. Length 32 cm. Smith & Wesson supplied approx. 1.000 of this model to the Japanese government, with our sample being part of the second shipment to H. Aherns & Co. in Yokohama in 1880.
