Octagonal blued barrels with smooth bores in 11 mm calibre. Dovetail front sight of nickel silver, adjustable rear sights. The barrel tops with gold-inlaid signature "I. Adam Kuchenreuter in Regensburg". The locks finely engraved with scrolling leaves and repeated gold-lined signature. Adjustable set trigger. Walnut half stocks with engraved iron noses and finely chequered grips. Vacant, silver escutcheons, engraved iron furnitures. Length of either pistol 39.5 cm. In a matching case of walnut wood, lined with red velvet. Lockable with matching key. Extensive, finely worked accessories consisting of a powder flask of black horn, cleaning rod and hammer, spring compressor, patch punch, nipple wrench, screw driver, percussion cap dispenser, bullet mould, powder gauge, oil flask and wrench for sight adjustment.Johann Adam Kuchenreuter (1794 - 1869) inherited his uncle's workshop in Steinweg in 1815. Gunsmith to the court of the Princes of Thurn und Taxis.
