Description

Octagonal to round barrels with slight cannon muzzles, the edges slightly torn. Smooth bore in 11 mm calibre. Flintlock engraved with a floral decor. Both pans with swing-out divider and two flash holes for superimposed charges. The inscription "Artzberg" struck on the tang. Iron trigger guard with locking lever for the revolving mechanism. Slightly carved walnut butt stock, the iron butt cap with engraved openwork floral ornament. Laterally inserted wooden ramrod (replaced). Length 49 cm. Exceptionally early flintlock pistol which can fire four consecutive shots due to two superimposed charges per barrel.

The auction includes 726 lots and starts on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 5001 - 5727. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
