Description

Octagonal, after cut girdles round and smooth barrels with conically reinforced muzzles in 15 mm calibre. Stamped at the breeches “1587” and “PD” with snake mark representing Peter Danner. Smooth wheel-locks with chiselled springs, external wheels, spring-loaded safety levers and pan covers. Walnut full stocks replaced in the 19th century, with splendidly engraved and blackened 16th century style all-over bone-inlays in the form of hop blossoms, animals and hunting scenes. On the flattened ball pommels an engraved coat of arms of Saxony. Wooden ramrods with bone tips. Elaborately crafted stocks which incorporate the original barrel and lock parts (which are slightly corroded on the inside). Length of either pistol 63 cm.
