Description

Large Hitler Youth flag captured at the Bridge of Remagen
by the first American troops to cross the Rhine after the battle, with
provenance. Red cotton fabric flag of HJ design with white stripe and
swastika within a diamond at the center. Inscribed with "Compliments of Company 'A' 86th Engineer Battalion First Engineers to cross the Rhine - Capt Dwight F. Warner Remagen", a list of officers and enlisted men. Includes 51 page binder provenance portfolio with history of battle and a U.S. M4 bayonet customized with Remagen grip. Flag circa 275 x 104 cm, bayonet circa 32 cm.

The auction includes 608 lots and starts on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 2001 - 2608. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 Oct., 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
