Description

The documents filed chronologically in a badly damaged Leitz folder, with makeshift date tabs, the spine labelled to this effect. Approximately 300 pages, for the most part DIN A5 and A4, many on carbon paper. Including reports by and to the "Deutschland" regiment, transcripts of radio messages (from SS-Div. "R" on 15.7.: (tr.) "Continue marching immediately, resting on the advance march route of 10th Panzer-Div. is not permitted"), daily orders (tr.) ("Mission order for Bittrich task force on 11.7.1941: [.] Bittrich task force assignments: a. secure the area... b. clear the woodlands south of the boundary as far as Mohilow... c. reconnaissance and intelligence as far as Dnieper, to the eastern bank if possible."), division orders received from Paul Hausser, daily orders from the commander-in-chief of the Army Group Centre GFM von Bock etc. Some handwritten, others typed, also including numerous signatures of regiment members. The edges severely damaged in some cases and yellowed. However, the substance of the pages in good condition and, above all, clearly legible.
Extremely rare research material on the SS Regiment (mot.) "Deutschland", which was renamed SS Panzergrenadier Regiment 3 in November 1942, while retaining the sobriquet "Deutschland".
