Description

Silver. 35 chain links with symbols illustrating the city's importance as site for fairs, industry, and trade. Leipzig also housed the Reichs Court, several renowned publishing houses, one of the most distinguished universities, and the oldest conservatory of the country. With an attached medallion bearing the city's coat of arms - the black lion rampant of the Margrave of Meißen and two blue bars of the Margrave of Landsberg. On the reverse two hooks for mounting, master's mark, hallmark "835", and the number "44". Length 52.5 cm, weight 630 g. Important object from the history of Leipzig.

The auction includes 608 lots and starts on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 2001 - 2608. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 Oct., 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
