Cal. .380ShortCFS, SN. 7, slightly matt bore, strong rifling, barrel length 130 mm. Six shots, fluted cylinder with ejector star. Double action only (DAO). Maker's inscription "Gatling Arms & Ammn. Co Ltd Birmingham - Dimancea Patent" on top of the barrel. By pressing down the lever at the back of the frame, the barrel and cylinder swing to the left by the hinge located underneath the cylinder. Original finish, with traces of handling especially at the barrel, sporadically on the housing and cylinder. Dark one-piece walnut grip panel with chequering, partially with visible indentations. Lanyard ring. The story behind the weapon: The Romanian captain and later artillery major Haralamb Dimancea from Bucharest designed a new type of revolver and wanted to sell it to the war ministry, which accepted it. Kynoch and later Gattling offered to manufacture the weapon. Due to technical difficulties, both companies ceased the production after a couple of sample revolvers. Cf. also Rolf H.
