Octagonal barrels of fine ribbon Damascus steel, with eight-groove rifling in 12 mm calibre. Dovetail front sights, adjustable rear sights. The top of the barrel with richly gold inlaid signature "J. Adam Kuchenreuter in Regensburg", surrounded by silver inlaid scrollwork. Silver-lined marks with Rider and "IAK". Tang finely engraved with scrollwork and "1" and "2", respectively. The locks engraved all-over with scrollwork. Triggers with adjustable set triggers. Finely cut walnut half-stocks, the fluted stocks with raised scrollwork. Vacant silver thumb plates. Fittings finely engraved with scrollwork on finely chased ground. Length 40 cm each. Johann Adam Kuchenreuter (1794 - 1869), active in Regensburg. Court gunsmith for the Princes of Thurn and Taxis, appointed gunsmith to the royal Bavarian court in 1840.Condition: I - II Questions about the lot?
