Heavy steel prod, painted green on the inside, a clover mark stamped on the right. Taut original bridle (with traces of gilding on yellow ground) and original knotted hemp string. Decoration of green wool pompoms. Bellied tiller of finely grained brown wood, the top and chamfered edges applied with engraved bone (polished staghorn), carved with volutes and floral motifs (rubbed). The underside entirely applied with yellowish horn. Butt cap of black-brown horn. The front three lock axles and cranequin lug set within bone rosettes. Original antler nut secured with thread, the nut thread covered with leather. Multi-axle lock, the hair set trigger with adjustable folding trigger, ridged iron trigger guard (the tiller inside with an inconspicuously placed spring to maintain tension). Small losses at the head of the tiller (improvable by restoration). Partially slightly damaged, previous minor repairs. Width of prod 59 cm, length 59 cm. A used long crossbow ("halbe Rüstung") in fine overall condition with an exceptional amount of original substance.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
