Original heavy single-edged blade from the early 17th century with broadened double-edged point. Three narrow fullers on both sides with multiply struck Pi and sawtooth marks. The base of the ricasso with a further uninterpreted mark on each side. Quillons and grip of sheet silver lavishly decorated with chased and chiselled flowers. The languet and pommel cap with a small set turquoise cabochon. Wooden scabbard with red velvet cover, the seam covered with gilt braid. Silver fittings richly decorated in relief with two movable suspension rings. Length 97 cm.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
