Description

Two-piece hammered skull with 24 distinctive ribs radiating from the crown. Every other rib decorated with a finely roped ridge. The crown with fluted spike and star-shaped washer. The lower edge surrounded by a band of densely set decorative rivets. Nasal secured by a screw (replaced). Large two-piece visor with rivets around the perimeter and a beaded and roped edge (loss). Three-lame cheek-pieces pierced with holes and decorated with rivets. Two-lame neck-guard richly studded with rivets and beaded and roped edges. Cheek-pieces and neck-guard well restored. Height 31 cm.

The auction starts on Wednesday, May 07, 2025 at 10 am (CEST). Lot no. 5001 - 6079. The pre-sale view will take place from April 22 - to April 26 as well as on Friday May 2nd and Monday May 5th in our auction rooms at Bretonischer Ring 3 in 85630 Grasbrunn / Munich from 11 am to 5 pm (CEST). Please make an appointment if possible to avoid waiting times.
