Die 390th Bomb Group im 8th Bomb Command flog ihre Einsätze auf B-17 Flying Fortress von Framlingham, Suffolk, in Großbritannien aus. Sie war mit der Bombardierung der Küste bei Caen 15 Minuten vor der Invasion auch am D-Day beteiligt.
