Description

Combined edition of 1939, on the occasion of 4.5 million total sales. Vellum binding with gold-lined edge decor and the title on the back, the inside front cover gold-stamped "Hans Zieher, Bonn" on the lower edge. In outstanding condition. Hans Zieher, a student of the Hermann Göring Master School of Painting, was one of the most famous bookbinders of his time. His father, also a bookbinder, worked for the master school and prepared vellum bindings for the school library, mostly in exchange for artwork by school leader Werner Peiner. When Hans Zieher became a student there, Peiner established a bookbinding workshop in which Hans Zieher made vellum folders which were presented to Adolf Hitler and Hermann Göring with birthday or special occasion cards.Condition: I - Questions about the lot?
