Description

Bronze, vergoldet. Auf einem ovalen Sockel aus schwarzem und dunkelgrünem Marmor. Verkleinerte Version des berühmten Reiterdenkmals des Großen Kurfürsten, das an Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg erinnert. Ungemarkt. Am Sockel kleine Bestoßungen. Höhe 21 cm, Gesamthöhe 38,5 cm. Eine identische Bronze wurde von der Gießerei Gladenbeck gefertigt. Kurfürst Friedrich III. von Brandenburg, der spätere König Friedrich I. in Preußen, erschuf das Denkmal zu Ehren seines Vaters. Es wurde von Andreas Schlüter ab 1696 entworfen, von Johann Jacobi bis 1700 ausgeführt und steht seit 1952 vor dem Schloss Charlottenburg in Berlin.
