Description

Ein vollständiges und ein fragmentiertes buddhistisches Tonvotiv mit Darstellung des historischen Buddha Sakyamuni bei der ersten Lehrrede in Sarnath, beide aus derselben Model geformt. Der Buddha im vollständigen Lotussitz, die Hände zur Dharmachakra-Mudra (Geste von der Ingangsetzung des Rades der Lehre) geformt. Höhe des vollständigen Stückes 7,5 cm.

Provenance: Norddeutsche Privatsammlung, übernommen über die Mutter aus der einstigen Sammlung des Großvaters. Von diesem Anfang der 80er Jahre im norddeutschen Kunsthandel erworben.
