Description
High, black lacquered leather skull, made in one piece in the Prussian style, complete with all brass fittings (remnants of gilding). The Schwarzburg double-headed eagle screw-mounted on the front with clamp nuts. Flat chinscales with leather underlay (buckle tongue is missing) on geometric cockades with iron, slotted head screws, the iron state cockade, lacquered white and blue, on the right. Cruciform base with four ball-head screws, fixed by means of clamp nuts, removable, fluted spike. Black leather liner (scuffed, minor defects). Slightly damaged in places, signs of wear and age. Extremely rare find. Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt sent 539 men for the 10th Battalion of the Army Reserve Division. From 1845, a helmet was worn after the Bavarian model, later on the helmet was introduced according to the Prussian model.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
