A Russian/Circassian silver-mounted shashka for officers of the Kuban Cossacks, with applied Order of St. Anna, 1st half of the 19th century

Description

Slightly curved single-edged blade with two grooves and double-edged point. The base etched on both sides with décor of crescent moon and sun. Grip of partly gilt silver with nielloed and engraved ornaments and applied, gold and partly enamelled miniature of the Order of St. Anna, enamel partly restored. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with silver fittings applied en suite and two movable suspension rings. Length 90 cm.
