Tall, black lacquered leather skull with square front peak, fittings of brass (with traces of gold plating) and silver-plated white metal. Rear spine, cruciform base with four domed rivets, smooth, detachable spike, the lower edge surrounded by a pearl ring (loose). Screw-mounted front plate in the form of a Saxon horse. Convex, leather-lined chin scales on geometrical bosses, on the right side the state cockade of stiff lacquered leather. The front peak with green lining, finely preserved black leather flap lining. Partially slightly damaged, signs of use and age. Rare early helmet in good original condition.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
