Description

Slender blade widening towards the point with slightly wavy edges. The long ricasso with sturdy guards on each side. The leather cover of the ricasso replaced. Flat quillons, the arms terminating in stylised fleur-de-lys ornaments (the lower hook broken off on each side). Large guard rings on each side. Replaced leather-covered grip. Blackened, biconical pommel, the upper side with six fullers struck with grooved decoration. Length 171 cm.

Provenance: Collection of Dr. Heinrich Tanner in Herisau (Switzerland). Illustrated in: Flammberg-Schwerter, catalogue of the special exhibition in Fort Heldsberg, St. Margrethen, Herisau 2005, p. 23. Acquired at the auction Fischer/Lucerne, November 1974.
