An Indian dagger with wootz blade and chiselled jade handle, 18th century

Description

The slightly curved, double-edged blade made of finely figured wootz-Damascus, with double fullers on each side. On the base, well-preserved décor of leafy vines in gold koffgari on both sides. The grip carved in one piece of finely chased, greenish jade with leaf, acanthus and flower motifs. Length 39 cm.
