Bronzeidol, iranisch,
frühes 1. Jtsd. v. Chr.
Stehende weibliche Figur en face mit einer
Aufhängung am Hinterkopf. Die Haare sind
zu zwei charakteristischen Knoten über den
Schläfen nach oben gebunden. Die Arme sind
vom Körper abgewinkelt, die Handflächen
ausgestreckt. Das knöchellange Kleid mit ei-
nem langen V-Ausschnitt um den Hals wird
von einem Gürtel tailliert. Hervorragend er-
haltene Amlash-Kleinbronze aus dem Nordi-
ran. Schöne Patina. Höhe 9 cm.
Provenienz: Aus österreichischem Kunst-
handel. Ehedem J. Ternbach Collection, Eng-
land, begründet in den 60er und 70er Jahren.

An Iranian bronze idol,
early 1st millennium B.C.
The female figure standing en face with a han-
ger at the back of the head. Her hair swept up
and styled in two characteristic chignons at
the temple. The arms extending forwards at an
angle, her palms held out. The calf-length robe
with a long V-neck, the waist encircled with a
belt. From Amlash, North Iran, the small
bronze idol in outstanding condition. Beauti-
ful patina. Height 9 cm.

trade. Originally in the J. Ternbach Collec-
tion, England, established in the 1960s and
70s. Then Bonhams Auction 3 April 2014, lot
no. 97, subsequently in the Ofner collection,
Austria.
