Rücken jeweils weißes, abgestepptes

Seidenfutter (vereinzelt kleine Risse) mit

schwarzem Vorstoß. Originaler, lederner

Bauchgurt. Leichte Trage- und Altersspuren.

Das Kürassier Regiment Nr. 2 bekam am

4. Juni 1895 ein Brustschild verliehen, mit dem

an die 150. Wiederkehr der Schlacht bei

Hohenfriedberg erinnert werden sollte, in der

das Regiment eine entscheidende Rolle spielte.

Sehr seltener Kürass in elegant taillierter

Form, ein Prachtstück, in dieser herausragen-

den Qualität so gut wie nicht mehr zu finden.

A parade cuirass for officers of the Cuirassier

Regiment “Königin” (Pomeranian) No. 2

Ridged tombac breast and back, profiled trim-

ming of silver-plated nickel silver with con­

tinuous gilt round-headed rivets, on the obverse

screw-mounted breast shield (complete gorget)

with medallion enamelled in colour bearing

the Prussian eagle, edge trim with frosted gold

plating, surmounted by the royal crown and

below it the date “1745” of the Battle of Hohen-

friedberg, red cloth lining. Gilt shoulder scales

of non-ferrous metal on nickel-silver lions’

heads in relief, the buckles decorated with

massive, applied oak leaves, the bandelier hook

on the upper left. Orders decoration screw-

mounted on the side, consisting of the Iron

Cross 1st Class (1914). Breast and back lined

with white, stitched silk (isolated small tears)

with black piping. Original, leather waist belt.

Light traces of wear and age.

The Cuirassier Regiment No. 2 was awarded a

breast shield on 4 June 1895 to commemorate

the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Hohen-

friedberg, in which the regiment played a

decisive role.

Very rare cuirass with elegantly waisted shape,

magnificent specimen of outstanding quality

rarely found today.
