cken und gegratetem Knöchelschild. Die
Fingerschuppen nachträglich unbeweglich
ergänzt. Volles Beinzeug mit vierfach gescho-
benen Kniebuckeln, im Scharnier zu öffnende
Unterdiechlinge mit mehrfach geschobenen
Kuhmaulschuhen. Auf moderner Puppe mit
schwarzem Holzsockel montiert. Unter dem
Harnisch ein langärmeliges Kettenhemd mit
auf Stoß geschlossenen Ringen. Höhe ohne
Sockel 170 cm.
Dekorativer, hochwertig gearbeiteter und gut
proportionierter Harnisch des Historismus.
A historicism armour for the field, in the
German style of circa 1560, 2nd half of the
19th century
The skull of the close helmet forged in two
pieces, with a central ridge and a row of li-
ning rivets, the plume socket riveted at the
nape. The two-part, pivoted visor fitted with
rosette-shaped breathing holes. The pivoted
bevor with a hook closure on the side. The
riveted gorget with a turned and roped edge.
Ridged breastplate with a hinged lance rest,
the attached tassets sliding on five lames.
The matching backplate with roped and
turned flanges. Complete arm defences, the
large pauldrons sliding on seven lames. The
closed cannons with small, half-open cou-
ters. Gauntlets with metacarpi sliding on
four lames and ridged knuckle shield. The
finger scales now unmovable, replaced at a
later date. Full leg defences with four-lame
poleyns, the greaves opening on a hinge, with
the “bear-paw” sabatons sliding on several la-
mes. Mounted on a modern mannequin with
a black wooden base. A long-sleeved coat
of mail with closed rings under the armour.
Height without pedestal 170 cm.
A decorative suit of historicism armour, mag-
nificently crafted and well-proportioned.
