A Chinese bronze vessel with silver inlays,
19th century
Bulbous vessel resting on three short legs.
Indented neck with reinforced rim, on the si-
des two applied elephant heads with attached
rings. Profusely decorated with fine silver in-
lays, cloud dragons above water, stylised bats
at the feet. On one foot corroded area with
small hole. Height 16 cm.

Rechteckige, auf der Oberseite ornamental
durchbrochen gearbeitete Rahmenkonstruk-
tion, mit jeweils zwei seitlichen Verstärkun-
gen an den vertikalen Stützen. Die Basis mit
einer breiten und zwei kleineren Schubladen.
Einhängend schmiedeeiserne Waage mit
zwei Messingschalen. Maße 83 x 63,5 x 25 cm.
Beiliegend vier unterschiedliche (teilweise
beschriftete) Messinggewichte. Länge 36 bis
85 mm.

A Chinese large and rare balance stand,
Tian Ping Cheng, 17th century
Rectangular frame construction, embellished
with ornamental openwork on the top, with
two lateral spandrels on each of the vertical
supports. The base with one wide and two
smaller drawers. Suspended from the frame
are the wrought-iron scales with two brass
weighing pans. Dimensions 83 x 63.5 x 25 cm.
Includes four different brass weights (some la-
belled). The lengths range from 36 to 85 mm.
