ne Marke „2“ unter Krone. Glatte Vollschäf-

tung aus Hartholz mit silberner Garnitur.

Am Schwanzschraubenblatt reich niellierte,

silberne Auflage. Vier silberne Laufbänder.

Länge 146 cm.

Provenienz: Seltene Prunkwaffe aus Sindh,

wohl Beutestück aus dem von Napier geführ-

ten britischen Feldzug von 1841.

A Pakistani deluxe flintlock rifle, Sindh,

early 19th century

Older, slightly ridged barrel of fine rose Da-

mascus steel with a delicately chiselled barrel

rib, eight-groove rifled bore in 15 mm calibre.

The muzzle chiselled in the shape of a dragon’s

head and entirely covered with gold floral in-

lays. The inset eyes made of faceted rubies, a

turquoise cabochon behind each one. Chi-

selled, gold-inlaid arabesques at the breech

and near the muzzle, an over-polished inscrip-

tion cartouche to the right of the breech. The

tang profusely adorned with floral decoration,

inlaid in gold. English flintlock, the lock plate

struck with the mark “2” below a crown. The

smooth full stock made of hardwood with sil-

ver furniture. A profusely nielloed, silver ap-

pliqué on the tang. Four silver barrel bands.
