Goldmontierter Spiegel, Persien, Qajar-Periode, datiert 1812
Spiegelrahmen mit klappbarem Deckel aus Pappmaschee mit fein ge-
maltem Lackdekor. Auf der Außenseite des Deckels Darstellung eines
Singvogels auf einem Rosenzweig. Links und rechts oben signiert und
datiert „1225“ (=1812). Die Deckelinnenseite mit Darstellung einer
Iris, die Rückseite des Rahmens mit Rosenblüten. Scharniere und Ver-
schlussöse aus massivem Gold gearbeitet, Verschlusshaken fehlt. Im
Inneren originales Spiegelglas mit geschrägten Rändern, altersbedingt
einzelne blinde Stellen. Maße 18 x 12,5 cm.
A Persian gold-mounted mirror, Qajar period, dated 1812
The mirror frame with a hinged cover made of paper maché with finely
painted decoration. The outside of the cover with a depiction of a song-
bird, perched on a rose branch. Signed and dated “1225” (=1812) at the
upper left and right-hand corners. A representation of an iris on the
inside of the cover, the back of the frame embellished with rose petals.
The hinges and ring clasp made of solid gold, the hook is missing. The
original mirror glass in the interior with bevelled edges, several opaque
spots due to age. Dimensions 18 x 12.5 cm.
