Bronzenes Vollgriffschwert vom Typ Mörigen, Späte Urnenfelderzeit, Stufe Hallstatt B3, 9. Jhdt. v. Chr. Klinge mit mittlerer Wölbung, seitlich durch dünne Rippen begrenzt. Daran anschließend die ca 5 mm breiten Fasen der Schneiden. Maximale Klingenbreite in der Mitte der Klinge, nach vorne sich stetig verjüngend, nach oben minimal eingezogen und zum Griff hin wieder ausladend. Griffplatte und Griffangel von Dreiwulstgriff eingefasst und durch Nieten an zwei seitlichen Zargen und in der Mitte des Griffs verbunden. Der Griff doppelkonisch mit drei horizontal verlaufenden Rippen, die mittlere um die dickste Stelle. Der Griff unten in zwei schräg nach außen verlaufende Zargen mit u-förmigem, dazwischen auslaufendem, oben mit sattelförmig durchgebogenem, in der Aufsicht ovalem Scheibenknauf versehen. Auf den glatten Stellen des Griffs Auflagen aus Goldblech. Diese aufgrund einer RFA-Analyse aus Feingold und damit modern, möglicherweise über Resten einer antiken Goldauflage angebracht. Die Legierung des Bronzeschwerts ist aufgrund einer RFA-Analyse typisch für die Zeit und steht nicht im Widerspruch zu einer antiken Herstellung. Geringfügige Scharten an den Schneiden und leichte Korrosionsspuren auf der Oberfläche der Klinge. Ansonsten sehr gut erhaltenes späturnenfelderzeitliches Schwert mit sekundär aufgebrachten Goldauflagen. Länge 70,7 cm. KULTURGUT! Provenienz: Norddeutsche Privatsammlung, erworben aus dem Norddeutschen Kunsthandel im Jahr 2004. Davor aus dem Erbe eines Hamburger Kunsthändlers übernommen. According to XRF analysis, the appliqués are made of fine gold and therefore modern, possibly mounted over the remnants of an antique gold appliqué. Moreover, according to XRF analysis, the alloy of the bronze sword is typical for the period and not inconsistent with ancient production methods. Minimal notches on the cutting edges and slight traces of corrosion on the surface of the blade. Otherwise, the late Urnfield Culture sword in excellent condition, the gold appliqués of later date.
