Black leather, textured visor with black, checkered underside. Gold silk lining, tan leather sweatband. Pre-WWI/WWI era. Size ca. 55 cm. Black leather, textured visor with black checkered underside, owners initials “E.H.” impressed. Black silk lining, black leather sweatband. French Third Republic era. Soutache trim around cap body with loose stitching. Size ca. 53 ½ cm. St. Cyr Cavalry School cap body in red tricot wool with three strands of gilt soutache piping around the circumference, extending vertically at each side, at top a single strand gilt soutache Hungarian knot within a circular soutache piped border, light-blue cloth cap bandwith gilt metal “2”cypher insignia centered to front band, gilt-wire tape chinstrap secured by two smooth-finish brass buttons. Black leather, smooth visor with dark-green checkered underside. Black silk lining with white stamped numeral “11”, brown leather sweatband.WWI era. Damage to sweatband. Size ca. 52 cm.
