| 91 A deluxe pair of Italian flintlock pistols, circa 1750 Smooth barrels in 13.2 mm calibre, narrow front sight rails at the muzzles. Deeply chased décor of tendrils, inlaid in silver, at the breeches, along with a deeply struck hallmark (crown/lily), also inlaid in silver. The tangs chiselled en suite and likewise inlaid in silver. The flintlocks again chiselled en suite and inlaid in silver with rain-proof pans, the signatures “F:G:Ba...”(?) on the lock plates, partially concealed by the frizzen springs. Slender, beautifully carved full stocks, the brass furniture delicately decorated in relief with rocaille ornaments on a silver background (minor defects), the butt plates engraved with silver cones. Iron ramrods with brass tips in closed brass pipes. Expert repairs and replacements on the forearms. Length of each 38.5 cm.
