Dovetailed front sight and chiselled fixed sight on the top. Silver-inlaid signature and fine engravings of acanthus and tendrils at the breech. Recoil flintlock, the lock plate lightly engraved with a repeated signature in a cartouche, surrounded by tendrils. Set trigger, the hair trigger has broken off. Exceptionally splendid full stock, carved with acanthus ornaments, the horn nosepiece inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Ornate, openwork brass furniture. The patch box and cheek piece covered in horn inlaid with mother-of-pearl. A cipher of a crown/”JK” inlaid with mother-ofpearl and carved initials “I.E” on the left side of the butt, an additional name in italics below the cheek piece. Length 119 cm.
