| 93 A late Bronze Age helmet of the Paks type, 13th - 12th century B.C. Cap helmet with a knob. Decorated bronze sheet calotte chased of a single piece. A cast knob in the centre of the crest, indented at the sides. Inside a tube, broadly extended at the bottom, with a bulging rim lip at the top. At- tached to the calotte from the underside with a rivet. The thick wall of the pommel is provided with two opposite holes in the longitudinal direction, by means of which a helmet deco ration could be attached in the tube. The lower section of the calotte, about 9 cm high, almost vertical and tapering only mini- mally upwards. Approx. 1 cmabove the smooth rim, a series of inward piercings at intervals of approx. 2.5 cm. Rivets still preserved in four of these punctures. On the outside a flat rivet head over a washer (three still preserved), on the inside the mandrel bent to the side and bent into a loop. Above the smooth rim with piercings four horizontal coils running all around, above them after about 2 cm six more similar coils. Above this section the slightly curved cover of the calotte with eight circular segments termi- nated at the top by four curved coils. Splendid dark green patina, which partially allows the metallic background to shine through. Dia meter at the rim 22 x 18 cm. Height approx. 15,5 cm. Almost perfectly preserved splendid specimen.
