A monumental famille rose vase with “Hundred Deer” decoration, late Qing Dynasty or early Republic, late 19th - early 20th century The belly is clearly retracted towards the stand ring and the shoulder, only slightly curved in the middle third. Above the almost conical shoul- der a long, cylindrical neck, in the lower half two pseudo handles in the shape of stylised animals painted in pink. Funnel-shaped, wide mouth. On the white glaze belly detailed and lovingly painted mountain land- scape with conifers and free pastures where numerous deer cavort. At the side and above the stand ring three decorative zones from bottom to top: rapport of blossoms flanked by two leaves, meander and rapport of blos- soms on stylised Tao-tiehmasks. Directly below themouth, likewise three decorative zones, from top to bottom: Golden rim, floral decorative frieze with rapport of blossoms. Inside turquoise glaze. Height 91 cm.
