Prince Otto von Bismarck – a collar of the “imperial dog” Tyras Two-layered, light-coloured leather band, continuously covered with ochre-coloured wool cloth (minor flaws), inscribed with the dog’s name “TYRAS” in Gothic lettering formed of facetted, gilt metal beads. Fastened by a leather strap and an iron buckle with one 5714 5714 thorn. On the inside the old inventory inscrip- tions “227” and “O IV 5”. Traces of wear and age. Diameter 19 cm. The Great Dane Tyras I was a gift by Count Holstein on 8 November 1877 and died on 19 January 1889, which was met with world- wide sympathy. In 1878, Bismarck appeared at the Berlin Congress with Tyras I. The animal attached the Russian Foreign Minister Gorchakov and tore his trousers. Tyras II was a birthday present of Emperor Wilhelm II and died on 11 May 1896.
