84 | 1671 Hellenistischer Goldring mit Granat und Smaragd, Ende 4. - 3. Jhdt. v. Chr. Goldring, dessen Reif aus zwei Delfinen ge­ bildet ist. Unten zwischen beiden Schwänzen eine ovale Goldfassung mit einem kleinen, grünen Smaragd. Die Schnauzen beider Del­ fine sind jeweils über ein Ösenscharnier mit der hohen, rautenförmigen Ringplatte ver- bunden. Darauf eingefasst ein ovaler, oben flach geschliffener Granat. Ausgefallener, ex- zellent gearbeiteter Goldring. Innendurch- messer 2,1 cm. Gewicht 15,3 g. Provenienz: Belgische Privatsammlung, zu- vor in einer Pariser Privatsammlung. Seit 2015 in Kommission im deutschen Kunsthandel. A Hellenistic gold ring with garnet and emerald, late 4th - 3rd century B.C. Gold ring. The hoop is formed by two dol­ phins. At the bottom between both tails an oval gold setting with a small green emerald. The muzzles of both dolphins are each connected by an eyelet hinge to the high golden ring bezel. An oval garnet, flattened at the top, is set on top. Unusual, excellently worked gold ring. Inner diameter 2.1 cm, weight 15.3 g. P rovenance : From a Belgian collection.
