| 445 A magnificent pair of cased, ebony-stocked percussion pistols, Paris, circa 1840/50 Octagonal, blued barrels, the central section finely grooved. Exquisite floral ornaments engraved at the breech and muzzle. The undersides both stamped with Liège proof marks, calibre, serial number „2197” and „EB”. Seven-groove rifled bores in 11.2 mm calibre. The tangs and patent breechblocks also finely engraved. The locks decorated with leafy vines and blossoms. The stocks made of ebony with the engraver‘s stamp „JNI” (Nicolas Jutin) in the barrel channels and ostentatious tendrils carved in high relief. Iron furniture engraved en suite to the locks. Pistols appear to be unfired, in virtually mint condition. Length of each 42 cm. Moreover, the lacquered, lockable case made of walnut (key is enclosed), the lid embellished with brass inlays and monogram plaque „F.P.” The interior lined in embossed leather and blue velvet. Including a complete range of accessories, comprising loading hammer, grease tin with cleaning pick, nipple wrench, bullet mould, screw driver, patch box, powder flask, powder measure, bullet puller, brass ramrod and cleaning rod. Hammer, nipple wrench, screw driver, patch box and ramrod also made of ebony; the screw driver and nipple wrench also blued on the front.
