Built as a percussion carbine for the cavalry, it was converted in 1872 to the Snider breech-loading system, the Snider locking block numbered „29“. Ring hammer. Several acceptance marks, the lock plate marked Crown/“LT/58“. The original finish gone, all parts polished. Walnut stock with acceptance mark on the butt,, barely visible. On the left hand side two saddle rings with mount. The butt cap tang marked „1860“. Length 84 cm. Extremely rare! Accordingly to the available literature, e.g. „The Visser Collection“, Vol. I, Part 4, pages 368/369, only 100 units of the cavalry carbine No. 1 M 1854 were converted to the Snider system. The left side of the slide marked „11.25 m/m Aut. Pistol M/1914“, Kongsberg factory mark, on the left side year of production „1929“ above „KK“. Grip safety. Original, dull finish with minor signs of wear, the top of the slide a bit mottled. Original blackened double-diamond walnut grips with fine checkering. Lanyard loop.
