Die ursprünglich ägyptisch-hellenistische Gottheit ist leicht an dem Kalathos, einem Korb für religiöse Zeremonien, auf dem Kopf zu erkennen. Detailreich gibt die Bronze den Faltenwurf des Gewandes sowie die Haar- und Barttracht wieder. Das Szepter in der Linken fehlt. Gearbeitet nach dem Vorbild des durch den griechischen Künstler Bryaxis im 3. Jhdt. v. Chr. geschaffenen Kultbildes, das sich im ägyptisch-ptolemäischen Alexandria im Serapeion, dem Hauptheiligtum des Gottes, befand. Eindrucksvolle römische Kleinbronze, die wohl in einem Lararium aufgestellt war und die den Schutz der Gottheit gewähren sollte. Intakt mit schöner Patina. Höhe: 17 cm. KULTURGUT! The originally Egyptian-Hellenistic deity is easily recognisable by the kalathos, a basket for religious ceremonies, on his head. Well worked en detail, especially the folds of the robe as well as hair and beard. The scepter in his left hand is missing. Modelled after the cult image created by the Greek artist Bryaxis in the 3rd century B.C., which was located in the Egyptian-Ptolemaic Alexandria in the Serapeion, the main sanctuary of this god.
