The four corner fittings and the album clasp engraved with rocailles. The reverse with four hemispherical fittings. Leather somewhat foxed. The first and the last two pages lined with pink watered silk, on the front flyleaf dedication (tr.) “Presented by the officers belonging to the Equestrian Institute since February 1872 to their parting chief Major Maximilian Freiherr von Sazenhofen, com- mander of the 5th Chevaulégèrs Regiment Prinz Otto in cordial remembrance” in cal- ligraphic script in gold, black, purple and ma- roon. On the ensuing 16 gold-edged pages 62 officers‘ portraits (2 are missing). Dimensions of album 32 x 26.5 x 5 cm.
