154 | Wilhelm Freiherr von Leonrod – A 1st Class order set of the Austrian Order of the Iron Crown in the presentation case The sash decoration worked in gilt bronze by the manufacturer C.F. Rothe & Neffe in Vienna, enamelled in various colours, some trans lucent, on a single suspension ring. The Crown of Lombardy inset with an iron ring, the crown pendilia stamped with the star mark for the replacement metal that was commonly used from 1916, with “C. F. ROTHE” in the ring. Width 46 mm. Weight 34.9 g. The eight-rayed, faceted and pierced breast star wrought in silver (stamped with double “A” mark and head of Diana hallmark, “2 A” for .900 silver, Vienna) with the initials “FR” of the traditional manufac turer Rothe. Still in the earlier production quality with a real gold, enamelled (small chip) and chased medallion. The pin stamped “C. F. ROTHE”, “WIEN” and the double “A” hallmark. One point of the star slightly bent. Width 86.5 mm. Weight 65.2 g. Together with the order sash, customised with a rosette, in the red pre sentation case, embossed with (tr.) “INSIGNIA OF THE AUSTRIAN IMPERIAL ORDER OF THE IRON CROWN 1ST CLASS” and the state coat of arms (also inside the lid) in gold, made by “ETUIS & CASSETTEN FABRIK JG. BERGMANN WIEN VII”, bearing the replacement metal stamp “BR”. Magnificent order set, with the civil issue of the sash decoration (without war decoration) in gilt bronze.
