102 | Wilhelm Freiherr von Leonrod – A Cross 1st Class with Swords of the Lippe-Detmold House Order Cross of Honour 1918 in the presentation case The neck cross worked in gilt silver (probably by C. F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim), the crown and swords embossed and hollow wrought, the Lippe rose made of gold, enamelled in various colours, some translucent. Width 66 mm. Weight 59 g. Together with the non-customised neck ribbon in the presentation case, embossed with a crown, rose and “E. K. I. Kl. X” in gold, con- taining a family note (tr.) “Honour Cross of the Principality of Lippe”. Worn at the neck, the 1st Class of the house and merit order represents the highest order grade. With swords, it is one of the rarest war medals awarded during the world war (according to Schwark 2005, it was awarded just 17 times). 247785 I - II € 4.000
