| 15 Los 3080 Jean-Baptiste Isabey (1767 - 1855) – Portrait von Napoleon Franz Joseph Karl Bonaparte, Miniatur auf Elfenbein, datiert 1816 Nicht ganz so bekannt wie sein berühmter Vater, aber dank seines Namens immer noch von Bedeutung, war Napoléon François Joseph Charles Prince de Parme (1811-1832). Als einziger legitimer männlicher Nachkomme Napoleon Bona- partes entstammte aus dessen zweiter Ehe mit Marie-Louise von Österreich. Als kaiserlicher Kronprinz von Frankreich trug er seit 1811 den Titel König von Rom, nach dem Sturz seines Vaters den Titel Prinz von Parma. Das hier vorgestellte Portrait, Gouache und Aquarell auf Elfenbein, wurde von Jean-Baptiste Isabey, Napoleons Hof- maler, 1816 gemalt und auch signiert. However, he was the only legitimate male descendant of Napoléon Bonaparte, his son from his second marriage to Marie-Louise of Austria. As the Prince Imperial of France, he bore the title King of Rome from 1811.After the fall of Napoléon, he formally became tit- ular emperor of France as Napoléon II, albeit for two weeks only, and then only held the title of Prince of Parma. He died in Vienna of tuberculosis, at just 21 years of age. This well-made portrait of Napoléon junior, gouache and wa- ter colour on ivory, was executed and signed by Jean-Baptiste Isabey, who was court painter to Napoléon Bonaparte, often accompanying him on campaigns, also arranging his coro- nation ceremony.
