All das dauerte seine Zeit und was lag da näher, als alle diese Schritte zusammenzufassen? So baute also im frühen 18. Jahrhundert ein findiger flämischer Büchsen- macher ein Kammerstück, das man - vorgeladen und mit gefüllter Pfanne - in eine spezielle Pistole einsetzen konnte, indem man deren Lauf abkippte. So musste der Schütze nur noch den Hahn spannen und war schussbereit. Besaß er dann auch noch mehrere Kammerstücke oder sogar ein Paar Pistolen, war eine recht hohe Feuergeschwindigkeit möglich. Solche Hightech-Produkte des 18. Jahrhunderts waren aber kostspielig, und nur wenige konnten sich solche Meisterwerke wie unser Pistolenpaar leisten.
