Sowohl die bulgarische Krone als auch das Kreuz sind über und über mit funkelnden Diamanten besetzt.Das wird der höchsten Verleihungsstufe dieser Auszeichnung mehr als gerecht. Das zugehörige weiße Ordensband ist mit hellgrünen Seiten- und roten Randstreifen gestaltet. Der Zivilverdienst- orden wurde am 2. August 1891 durch den deutschstämmigen Fürsten Ferdinand I. von Bulgarien (1861 - 1948) gestiftet und für allgemeine Verdienste um das Fürstentum bzw. Königreich Bulgarien an In- und Ausländer verliehen. So erscheint im Me- daillon die Chiffre F I für Ferdinand I. Von 1908 bis 1918 am- tierte Ferdinand I. als Zar von Bulgarien. Mit der Annahme des Zarentitels und der Erhebung Bulgariens zum Königreich kam eine eckige Zarenkrone (2. Modell) beim Zivil-Verdienstorden zur Anwendung. Diese ziert auch das vorliegende Exemplar und markiert den Verleihungszeitraum. Ein bekannter Träger des Ordens ist der „Walzerkönig“ Johann Strauss (Sohn). Die Verleihung mit Brillanten ist extrem rar. Ferdinand I reigned as Tsar of Bulgaria from 1908 to 1918. The angular tsarist crown (2nd model) was introduced for the civilian order of merit when he assumed the title of tsar and proclaimed Bulgaria a kingdom. This specimen also fea- tures the tsarist crown, which marks the period of its bestowal. One famous bearer of the order is Johann Strauss (the Son), known as the “Waltz King”.
