Im Historismus wurde diese Tradition wiederbelebt, und begabte Plattner in Paris, Wien und München schufen erneut Miniaturen nach historischemVorbild. Das hier vorliegende, nur 27,5 cm hohe, spätgotische Nürnberger Stechzeug im Stil um 1500 ist extrem fein und detailreich gearbei- tet und steht denArbeiten der Renaissance in keinerWeise nach. Das Stück wurde in der bekannten Kunstschmiede Schneider in München gefertigt, wo es 1923 erworben wurde, und sich seitdem in Familienbesitz befand. They bear witness to the fact that the excellent workmanship of these items was highly appreciated even then. During the his- toricism period, this tradition was revived, and talented armourers in Paris, Vienna and Munich created miniatures modelled on his- torical examples. The late Gothic Nuremberg jousting armour at hand is only 27.5 cm in height. It was crafted in fine detail in the style of 1500 and is in no way inferior to Renaissance workmanship. The item was manu- factured in the renowned workshop Schneider of Munich, where it was acquired in 1923, and has been in family possession ever since.
