The centre inlaid with a Rubel coin depicting Peter II (Emperor of Russia 1727 - 1730) from 1728. Button in the form of a two-faced Janus head. Janus symbolises duality and ambiguity, representing both good and evil . Banded handle with shieldshaped finial . The bottom and lid stamped with the city mark “17[??]”, unknown assayer’s mark “AG”, and “GS” master’s mark, both in Cyrillic. Later gold plating. The interior with restored crack and small loss.
